About Me

My name is Megan Kelly and I live in Capel, Western Australia. I got my first dog in 2001. Since then I have been learning all about showing, obedience, agility, jumping and basically anything to do with keeping your dogs happy and healthy.

I am currently a member of - Dogs West (Canine Association of WA), Portuguese Water Dog Club of America, WA Kennel Club Committee Member, Southern River Obedience and Agility Dog Club.

I am actively involved in showing, doing obedience trials and learning about being an obedience instructor. I have also now become a Junior Handler judge. To help the next generation of dog people. I like to help people learn to understand their dogs and use postivative re-inforcement. I am very much in love with the Portuguese Water Dog breed and I want to do my best to protect and further the breed. I am a firm believer in health testing all breeding animals to make sure we are producing happy healthy dogs.

Due to work commitments I will not be having any litters in the near future. I will definately be spending that time learning more about PWD's. But I am more than happy to point you in the right direction for a reputable registered breeder, who health tests.

In 2012 I was lucky enough to head to the World Dog Show in Salzburg, Austria. It was amazing to see more than a hand full of PWD's in one place and met some great people. The show on a whole was huge with many breeds that I had never seen or heard of before. An amazing experience.

In 2013 I headed to Portugal to a conference on Portuguese Water Dogs in their birth place. It was an amazing experience to meet breeders from all around the world, share information on the breed, new inprovements in health testing and I was also lucky enough to handle one of the dogs in the show.

In 2016 I went to the Portuguese Water Dog Club of America Nationals in Monterey, California. It was amazing to meet the people and dogs I have only ever seen on the internet. Some truly awesome working dogs competing in obedience, rally-o and agility. Also to learn about puppy culture, a way of raising puppies to ensure they are well socialised, and out going.

"Bruno" passed away in March 2016. Taken too soon. "Lacy" is a bit lost without her best friend, but now has "Harpo" to boss around. Watch out for some new adventures.

Very happy to celebrate "Harpo's" first big win in June 2017, winning Best In Group. Which is a first for a PWD in WA for about 10 years. We have very tough competition in WA with some truly beautiful dogs. "Harpo" and I also completed his Endurance trial (ET title) in 2017. In 2018 we will be competing in Dancing with Dogs. Something very different for me, but he loves it.

REBELDOG Where temperament and health counts!
